Anica Xie is an multimedia artist based in New York and California whose work draws inspiration from color field paintings, flower arranging, Song dynasty minimalism, and international cinema.

 

The tension between ephemera and eternity inform her language of restraint.

 

Allowing memory to dissolve into deconstructed forms, she renders shape and color onto each canvas before carefully reducing the moment's chaotic complexity into one essential but anonymous emerging recollection.
